Unforgettable irresistible undeniable our shuv – here in multi wear felt – is just fun. A cult favorite of dancers, artists, architects and geeks (of all kinds), formed from a single-piece upper on our incredibly comfortable microwobbleboard™ mid soles, they are – literally – happiness at your feet. FitFlop's super-soft Shuv comfort casual clog will be your go-to shoe on lazy days or for a quick trip to the store. One-piece seam-free felt colored upper gives this clog a pure and clean look with an amazing underfoot cushion and roomy toe space for all-day comfort. Created in the UK, over a two-year collaboration between former Bliss spa-entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore, Biomechanist Dr. David Cook and a team of untiring footwear engineers, FitFlops were initially designed to help modern women squeeze a little more exercise into their increasingly hectic schedules."I thought, how amazing if I could invent something that would help fight the onset of cellulite while I'm walking to the office," says Kilgore. "I work. I have kids. I have a husband. And the likelihood of me seeing the inside of a gym in the next ten years is slim to none. That said, I'd obviously prefer to go with slim." Kilgore found Dr. Cook at The Centre for Human Performance at London's LSBU, where he envisioned injecting the patent-pending 'microwobbleboard' technology into the midsole of the function-forward flip flop. Slightly destabilizing, FitFlops feature three distinct densities of EVA foam in a single-fused underfoot piece, to challenge your muscles more every time you step - to deliver a workout while you walk. Update 6/24/2020: Still stuck with these shoes and never wear them except if I have to 2 years after purchase, On my limited income, I still can’t save enough of my social security checks to buy a pair to replace them.BTW, I have educated myself about flat souls, as they have developed a number of different densities and thicknesses and softness levels of under souls. The only shoes, or rather FitFlop “sole” worth purchasing for true comfort are the original fit flop shoes/soles. You would have to look at the Fitflop website in the fine print for each model you are interested in, to see if they were made with the original softer (wider) sole. Ignore names like Atomicush soles (can’t remember the others, offhand) “Atomicush” is a fancy name for a hard and narrow shoe sole. Trust me, it’s confusing; as each shoe style has a different name, and a separate name for the type of sole for that shoe model.Original review from 2018I have worn FitFlops for 6 or 7 years all told, as they were a godsend and the only brand I could wear for relief from spinal stenosis and the related joint pain in my knees and lower back. Even though I wear a wide width, I took a chance on FitFlops because I had read that FiFlops in general are wider in the toe box than average width shoes usually fit. That was true for the first 2 or 3 pairs of FitFlops These Shuv clogs, however, seem like a cheap knockoff compared to my earlier purchases. These are too tight in the toe box, and the shoe stretchers I’ve had in them for several weeks are not effective, due to the stiffness of the fabric. The soles are very stiff and unyielding underfoot, causing sharp pain in my knees with every step. Beware, the soles are dangerously slippery on any kind of smooth flooring or on grass or smooth concrete. The first minute I put them on, I nearly fell, simply trying to walk on wood laminate flooring. They slide on thick carpeting; really anywhere, indoors or out. I can not recommend FitFlops any more for these reasons and am looking at other comfort shoe brands from now on.
