I use this to apply a thin coat of oil to my straight razor after shaving. It does a far better job than those appliances specifically sold for that purpose and is priced at about 1/5 the cost. A small bit of advise: After filling it for the first time, allow it to rest on its side for a few days to allow for the oil to saturate the tip. Thereafter rest it in the upright position (cap end up); otherwise there will be too much oil dispensed upon use.
